According to reports, a new event centered around The Mandalorian may be added to the game’s battle royale mode. This highly popular title from Epic Games has had major collaborations with famous franchises in recent months. The latest season of Fortnite was released as a massive collaboration with The Simpsons, while previous events brought franchises like Scooby-Doo and Friday the 13th to the game. Now it’s time for a new collaboration with one of the biggest brands in popular culture, Star Wars.
Although the game is currently focused on The Simpsons, a new feature in the customization section has sparked rumors about the game’s next big collaborations. Some leaks suggest that Fortnite might be preparing new items and outfits in collaboration with Disney, designed for sidekicks, so that Disney can bring characters into the game that they don’t want to be seen using weapons. Previously, Disney characters such as Maleficent, Cruella de Vil, and Captain Hook were added to the game in Season 5 with the Disney Villains Set expansion pack. Now, it seems more content from Disney-owned franchises is coming to the game.
A famous leaker named HYPEX has revealed more details about Fortnite’s upcoming collaboration with the Star Wars franchise. According to this information, a new mission centered around The Mandalorian and Grogu (aka Baby Yoda) is being designed for Disney’s simulator called Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, which will be connected to Fortnite. Disney also said that stories are evolving in movies, games, and theme park attractions. This statement indicates that the Fortnite collaboration will be part of a larger story in the Star Wars universe. However, no specific release date for this collaboration has been announced yet.
This is not the first time Fortnite has collaborated with Star Wars. In the middle of Season 6, an entire sub-season focused on Star Wars was released, adding lightsabers, the character Darth Vader, and many skins including Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo to the game. In addition to this collaboration, rumors suggest that Fortnite will soon host a series of other major collaborations with Harry Potter, South Park, Silent Hill, and SpongeBob SquarePants, which are likely to be introduced in the next season (Season 7).
