Darkwood 2 Officially Announced: A New Survival Horror is Coming
Finally, after years of anticipation, the second installment of the acclaimed game Darkwood has been officially announced. Publisher Hooded Horse and developer Ice-Pick Lodge unveiled Darkwood 2 with a new trailer. This survival horror game will be released for PC (via Steam and Microsoft stores) and will also be available to PC Game Pass subscribers from day one. No specific release date has been announced yet for this title.
The events of Darkwood 2 take place just a few years after the first game, taking players to a new and dangerous land where cursed forests are devouring the land and human lives. A completely new story with fresh characters awaits you, so you won’t need to play the first part to experience the second. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the dried-up Aral Sea has become a mysterious point; an unknown forest has emerged from the sands, swallowing everything in its path. No one knows where this phenomenon came from or why it exists.

Throughout the region, remnants of a lost world can be seen: abandoned villages, rusted ships trapped in the sand, deserted oil rigs, and factories on the verge of collapse. Meanwhile, marauding gangs, bikers, and former soldiers rule over the survivors with fear and violence, while nomads wander day and night in search of safe haven; but even walls no longer provide security. In Darkwood 2, players must once again fight for survival in dry deserts, heavy swamps, and dark waters. There are no maps, mission markers, or guides, and only your sense of direction and inner fears will show the way. You must gather resources, craft weapons, fortify your shelter, and prepare for terrifying nights. The enemy can attack from all sides. Will you hide in the basement, anxiously listening to the sound of doors opening and closing, or will you bravely stand against the nightmares?
