Update: The original Let Them Trade introduction article is outdated. It has been republished to highlight a game you can actually play today. The PC version is available for download on domestic Iranian websites.
Developer: Spaceflower Studio – an independent team based in Germany.
In Let Them Trade, you build new cities and explore the map to discover and acquire various resources. Each city has its own budget and resource pool, and you can decide where to place each city on the game map.
City Districts in the Let Them Trade Demo

Every city independently buys and sells its resources. As the king, you collect a percentage of every trade between cities as tax. There is also a happiness meter for each city – higher happiness increases the tax revenue and overall income from that city.
You can build roads between cities to make trading easier. Since each city may have unique local resources, trade routes become even more valuable.
Example:
-
A coastal city is ideal for fishing.
-
A city built near forests provides easy access to wood.
You can construct various buildings inside cities to speed up resource gathering and trade. Examples include:
-
Peasant rest stops
-
Sawmills
-
Potato farms
Overview of the Let Them Trade Demo Map

A royal research center (controlled by the player) allows you to upgrade structures or unlock new ones – like a dye factory. The demo currently has limited upgrade options, but the full game’s tech tree appears extensive.
Everything costs money: research, building new structures, founding new cities. You can lend money to a city or take extra funds from it – this temporarily increases or decreases the city’s happiness.
You can also send envoys to explore new locations, unlocking more resources and expanding your map presence. Exploration is crucial because you’ll need to increase your resource and income flow over time.

Each level features one or more primary objectives that must be completed to progress. There are also several side missions, plus a Milestone system that offers additional challenges.
The game runs on Unreal Engine and boasts impressive graphics for a strategy title. Zooming in reveals fine details on every tile and building – the development team has done a great job here so far. The soundtrack is also varied and pleasant, contributing to a strong atmospheric experience.
Let Them Trade Demo Review: Final Verdict
Overall, Let Them Trade is a well‑crafted game for strategy fans. Its main focus is on delivering a relaxing, calm experience – perhaps too relaxing at times, which can make the gameplay feel a bit repetitive after a while. However, if you enjoy strategy games, you won’t regret playing Let Them Trade.
